Cookie Policy
LookBlog uses only a few small cookies and browser storage, all needed for the site to work. No advertising or tracking cookies.
Cookies we use
- lb_session — keeps you logged in. Strictly necessary. Lasts up to 30 days (or until you close the browser, if you didn’t choose “remember me”).
- lb_accounts — remembers the other accounts you are logged in to on this browser, so you can switch quickly. Strictly necessary for that feature. Lasts up to 30 days.
- lb_consent — remembers what you chose in the cookie window (“all” or “none”), so we don’t ask again. Strictly necessary to respect your choice. Lasts 1 year.
Browser storage
Some preferences are saved only in your own browser (local storage), not on our servers: your site language, feed tab, video quality, subtitles and theater mode choices, recent searches, sound settings, the reply sort order and your cookie choice. You can clear them any time in your browser settings.
Third parties
- Fonts are served by LookBlog itself — nothing is loaded from Google Fonts.
- YouTube: nothing from YouTube loads until you play a YouTube song or video (or a story you watch plays one, if you allowed content from other sites). Song covers come through LookBlog, so YouTube doesn’t see you just for looking at them. A song then plays in YouTube’s visible player from youtube-nocookie.com, which doesn’t set YouTube’s tracking cookies until you interact with the player itself; YouTube’s own rules apply inside it.
- Links to other sites (YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Spotify, SoundCloud, Vimeo) show a “Load” button first: nothing loads from that site until you tap it. After that, its own cookie rules apply inside its player.
- GIFs, maps and translation: GIF searches go to GIPHY through our server (GIPHY doesn’t see who searched), but the GIF pictures themselves load from GIPHY, which sees your IP address. Event maps load from OpenStreetMap. Both load by themselves only if you allowed content from other sites; and translating sends that text to a translation service. None of these set cookies on LookBlog.
- We don’t use analytics or advertising cookies, and no other company tracks you on LookBlog.
Your choices
The first time you open the log-in page, a cookie window asks what you allow. Until you choose, only necessary cookies are used:
- Necessary (lb_session, lb_accounts) — always on, because logging in can’t work without them. You can delete them by logging out or clearing your browser’s cookies for this site.
- Content from other sites — when you allow it (“Accept all”), YouTube songs in stories start by themselves and GIFs (GIPHY) and event maps (OpenStreetMap) show right away. With “Reject cookies”, each of them waits until you tap it, and only the necessary cookies above are used (they can’t be turned off, because logging in needs them).
Your choice is saved in the lb_consent cookie (and in your browser’s local storage). We don’t keep it on our servers. You can change it any time here: Cookie settings (also at the bottom of the log-in page). Questions? Contact us.
